Join us for a six-month course taught by popular calligrapher Rise Koizumi, known for her sophisticated lettering style. Through monthly in-person lessons and personalized feedback, you will master the fundamentals of the Copperplate script deeply and beautifully.
Copperplate is a highly elegant script that developed in 18th-century England, characterized by the delicate variations in line weight created by a pointed pen. The Advanced Course is designed for those with basic experience in modern calligraphy or Copperplate, focusing on mastering more advanced spacing, variations, and application in your own work.

● Basic Class
For those new to calligraphy or Copperplate, or those looking to rebuild their foundation from scratch. This class focuses on establishing a strong base for beautiful lettering, from basic strokes to alphabet construction.
● Advanced Class
For those with experience in modern calligraphy or Copperplate, this class focuses on learning more advanced spacing, variations, and application in your work.

【Advanced Class Curriculum】
Theme: Lettering Application and Short Text Composition
Session 1: Connecting numbers and letters
Session 2: Phrase practice
Session 3: Basics of flourishing
Session 4: Short text project preparation (choosing subject matter and layout)
Session 5: Short text project drafting (finalizing layout)
Session 6: Finalizing short text

Rise Koizumi - Profile
Discovered calligraphy at an exhibition in her 20s. Captivated by the infinite potential of handwriting and its delicate beauty, she entered the world of calligraphy. While mastering various scripts, she began offering online Copperplate lessons in 2019. She is dedicated to sharing the joy of writing through her "supportive-style" lessons.
