Join us for a six-month course where you will master the foundations of Copperplate script deeply and beautifully through monthly in-person lessons and detailed feedback from highly popular calligrapher Rise Koizumi, known for her sophisticated lettering style.
Copperplate script is a highly elegant style that developed in 18th-century England, characterized by the delicate variations in line weight created by a pointed pen. In this course, you will uncover the mechanics of these refined lines from the ground up and acquire solid technical skills. You will be asked to review the content of each lesson, and we will return your submitted assignments with careful feedback and advice.
We offer two classes for this course, which you can choose based on your proficiency level.
This is the registration page for the Basic Class.
● Basic Class
Designed for those who are new to calligraphy or Copperplate script, or for those who wish to rebuild their foundation from scratch. You will solidify your base for beautiful lettering, from fundamental strokes to the formation of the alphabet.
● Advanced Class
Designed for those with experience in modern calligraphy or Copperplate script, this class focuses on more advanced spacing, variations, and applications in original work. We prioritize enrollment for those who have completed the Basic Class, and will open registration to the general public only if there are remaining seats.
