This course will be taught by Rise Koizumi, a calligrapher who is extremely popular for her sophisticated lettering style. Through monthly face-to-face lessons and careful corrections over a six-month period, you will gain a deep and beautiful grasp of the basics of copperplate calligraphy.

Copperplate is a very elegant typeface that was developed in 18th century England and is characterized by the delicate variations in pressure and pressure produced by a pointed pen.
The advanced course is aimed at those with basic experience in modern calligraphy and copperplate calligraphy, and aims to teach more advanced spacing, variation, and application to works of art.

This course offers two classes that you can choose based on your level of proficiency.

● Basic Class <br>This class is for those who are new to calligraphy or copperplate calligraphy, or who want to rebuild the basics from scratch. From basic strokes to shaping the alphabet, you will build a solid foundation for beautiful lettering.

● Advanced Class <br>This class is aimed at those with experience in modern calligraphy and copperplate calligraphy, and teaches more advanced spacing, variations, and how to apply them to your work.

Rise Koizumi Profile

When he was in his twenties, he encountered calligraphy at an exhibition. Attracted by the infinite possibilities and delicate beauty of handwritten writing, he entered the world of calligraphy.
While learning various calligraphy styles, he began online lessons in Copperplate typeface in 2019. He shares the joy of writing and pursues "supportive" lessons.
