This is a collaboration workshop between calligrapher/shodo artist Maki Shimano and Glass Studio TooS. Take time to grind your sumi ink while reflecting on yourself, and create your own calligram artwork based on a theme-specific design.

This is an exclusive collaboration with Glass Studio TooS, and only those selected via advance lottery may participate. As a special feature for this session, this workshop offers a premium set including a portable glass inkstone, a unique ink stick rest that highlights the glass material, and a limited-edition glass pen from the CHESS series.

Maki Shimano Profile

Calligrapher/Shodo Artist
Started practicing calligraphy at the age of five. After graduating from university, she joined Plan・Do・See Inc. While working in the bridal industry, she also became involved in logo and design work for stores, which is when she discovered calligraphy.
Following her marriage and the birth of her child, she became an independent artist. She expresses a unique fusion of Japanese and Western calligraphy, elevating it to fine art, with works reaching international audiences.
She handles live calligraphy for luxury brand events, develops collaborative products with various companies, and supervises educational materials.
Author of "Modern Calligraphy" (BNN) and others.
