[DAIKANYAMA drawing] Belinda Chim - Candle Label Making 10/8

This is a practical workshop combining the basics of pointed pen calligraphy with botanical illustrations, led by Macanese calligrapher Belinda Chim.
Both beginners and experienced participants are welcome.

While learning the basic usage of a dip pen, participants will acquire skills in drawing acanthus leaves, plant motifs, and birds, and create original soy candle labels with a nature theme.

【Lesson Content】
Part 1: Basic Pen Operation
　Basic strokes
　Practice drills
　Shading techniques

Part 2: Drawing Plants and Birds
　How to draw acanthus leaves and plant motifs
　How to draw bird forms
　Achieving balance and creating compositions

Final Production
　Illustrate a nature-themed design onto a soy candle label to complete the artwork.

Belinda Chim Profile

Belinda Chim is a calligrapher based in Macau.
Since beginning her creative journey in 2013, she has continued to explore traditional calligraphy techniques, specializing in formal scripts of Western traditional lettering such as Engrosser's Script and Spencerian Script.

Her creative work is greatly influenced by a plant-centric lifestyle and a lifelong deep affection for animals. Working in her lush green studio, she creates nature-themed works by blending calligraphy with hand-drawn illustrations.
Many of her works utilize "pictorial calligraphy" or "calligrams," which express letters themselves as paintings, beautifully integrating words and animal motifs through elegant flourishes and scrollwork.

In addition to collaborating with luxury brands and creating custom works, she is also actively involved as an educator, having taught calligraphy to thousands of students worldwide. Through holding workshops and developing original calligraphy supplies, she continues to convey calligraphy as both a sophisticated art form and a mindful practice for calming the mind.
