Saito Mion [Calligraphy Class] June–November 2026

This is the new registration page for Ms. Misono Saito's Calligraphy Class, running from June to November 2026.

Currently, the only class available is the [Sunday PM Class].
If there are open spots due to absences, transfers to other classes may be accommodated.

[Class Content]
Calligraphy practice (brush calligraphy, small brush calligraphy, kana calligraphy) consisting of one in-person lesson and one correspondence critique per month. Practice will be based on three types of mẫu written by Ms. Misono each month.
To provide appropriate guidance tailored to each student's level, this class incorporates the dan-kyu (rank/grade) system of the Toyo Shodo Geijutsu Gakkai (Oriental Calligraphy Arts Society), to which Ms. Misono belongs.
Students can aim for master certification, starting from 10th kyū.

Brush Calligraphy: 4-6 characters on paper (large brush)
Kana Calligraphy: Writing hiragana and its root hentaigana with a small brush
Hard-pen Calligraphy: Ballpoint pen writing

[What to Bring]
Complete set of calligraphy tools (large brush, small brush, hanshi paper, sumi ink, paperweight, inkstone, underlay, brush roll), hard-pen paper, water-based ballpoint pen.
*If you wish to purchase Ms. Misono's selected calligraphy tool set (tax included: 9,500 yen), please contact lesson@papertree.jp after registering for the lesson. If you already have your own tools, there is no need to purchase new ones.
*Hanshi paper and hard-pen paper can also be purchased on the day of the lesson.

[Schedule] *Currently, only the Sunday PM class is available for enrollment.
Six-month course (payment every 5 months). August and December are off-months.

Thursday Class (AM/PM): 6/25, 7/23, 9/24, 10/22, 11/26
Sunday Class (AM/PM): 6/28, 7/26, 9/27, 10/25, 11/22
Morning Class: 10:30-12:30 / Afternoon Class: 14:00-16:00

[Price] 7,500 yen (excluding tax) x 5 months

Misono Saito Profile

Her profession is writing and teaching beautiful characters. She presides over the Misono Calligraphy Class. Having been familiar with calligraphy since childhood, she operates under the motto, "Writing characters neatly and beautifully is the same as maintaining one's appearance." She strives daily to explain how to achieve beautiful handwriting in an easy-to-understand manner for each individual.
Her book is "Beloved Beautiful Handwriting Penmanship Lesson with Reusable Magic Practice Book!" (MDN Corporation).
