Saito Mion [Calligraphy Class] June–November 2026

This is the application page for Ms. Misono Saito's Calligraphy Class.
Lessons are applied for in 5-month blocks, but you may continue to participate if you wish.

If there are open spots due to absence, we can arrange for transfer to another class.

【Content】
Calligraphy practice (brush, fine brush, kana), with one in-person lesson per month and one correspondence review, using three types of mẫu written each month by Ms. Misono.
To provide appropriate guidance tailored to each student's level, this class incorporates the dan/kyu ranking system of the Toyo Shodo Geijutsu Gakkai, a calligraphy association to which Ms. Misono belongs.
You can aim for a master's license, starting from 10th kyu.

Brush Calligraphy: 4-6 characters on paper (large brush)
Kana: Writing hiragana and their variant kana with a fine brush
Penmanship: Ballpoint pen characters

【What to bring】
A full set of calligraphy tools (large brush, fine brush, hanshi paper, sumi ink, paperweight, inkstone, felt mat, brush roll), hard-tip paper, water-based ballpoint pen.
*If you wish to purchase Ms. Misono's selected calligraphy tool set (tax included: 9,500 yen), please contact lesson@papertree.jp after applying for the lesson. If you already have your own tools, there is no need to purchase new ones.
*Hanshi paper and hard-tip paper can also be purchased on the day of the lesson.

【Schedule】
Six-month course (payment every 5 months), August and December are off.

Thursday Class (AM/PM): 6/25, 7/23, 9/24, 10/22, 11/26
Sunday Class (AM/PM): 6/28・7/26・9/27・10/25・11/22
Morning Class: 10:30-12:30 / Afternoon Class: 14:00-16:00

【Fee】7,500 yen (excluding tax) x 5 months

　　　・Standard hard-tip paper: 380 yen
　　　・Promotion exams three times a year (April, July, October) *Optional

Misono Saito Profile

Her work involves writing and teaching beautiful characters. She presides over the Misono Calligraphy Class. Having been familiar with calligraphy since childhood, she lives by the motto "Writing characters carefully and beautifully is the same as grooming oneself." She strives daily to explain how to achieve beautiful handwriting in an easy-to-understand way, tailored to each individual.
Her publications include "Magic Practice Book You Can Use Repeatedly! Penmanship Lessons to Achieve Beloved Beautiful Handwriting" (MDN Corporation).
