I believe that characters are like a mirror that reflects one's heart and lifestyle. Using tools handed down since ancient times in Japan such as brushes, washi paper, and ink, you can carefully face your own characters and face yourself as you write.

We hope that such time, which has become precious in modern society, can become a time for careful learning in each of your lives.

[Contents]
Calligraphy lessons (brush, small brush, kana) will consist of one face-to-face lesson and one correspondence correction session per month. Each month, lessons will be based on three types of models written by Professor Misono.
In order to provide appropriate instruction according to each student's level, this school has adopted the rank and grade system of the calligraphy association called the Oriental Calligraphy Art Society, of which Professor Bien is a member.
You can start at 10th grade and work your way up to master level.

Brush: 4-6 characters on paper (large brush)
Kana: Hiragana and its variants written with a small brush. Hard brush: Ballpoint pen writing.

【What to bring】
Calligraphy tools set (large brush, small brush, writing paper, ink, paperweight, inkstone, writing pad, calligraphy scroll), hard writing paper, water-based ballpoint pen
* If you do not have any tools, you can purchase a set of calligraphy tools selected by Mr. Bien. We will contact you separately when you apply for the lesson.
* Hanshi paper and hard writing paper can also be purchased on the day.

Profile of Mio Saito

Her job is to write and teach beautiful characters. She is the owner of the Mien Calligraphy School. She has been familiar with calligraphy since she was a child, and her motto is "Writing characters carefully and beautifully is the same as grooming yourself," and she strives every day to explain beautiful handwriting in an easy-to-understand way.
