brush brush - Shiho Sakurai's monthly watercolor botanical illustration lesson, where you can learn from the basics. This is the application page for the Basic Course Autumn/Winter class.
The Botanical Illustration Watercolor Basic course has different themes for spring/summer and autumn/winter.
The Autumn/Winter class is a five-session course in which participants will complete an original sticker using a motif of their own choosing at the final session.
We will carefully work with each participant and provide advice on key points to keep in mind when drawing flowers and botanical patterns, as well as tips on which angles to use to create a balanced drawing.
Diplomas will be given to students who complete both the Spring/Summer class and the Fall/Winter class.
【curriculum】
Part 1: Alstroemeria (Watercolor techniques, how to use tools, coloring book)
Part 2: Christmas rose and mistletoe Part 3: Viola and tulip Part 4: Mimosa and cherry blossom Part 5: Finish the illustration of your chosen plant
*For the first lesson, beginners will start by tracing a pre-printed sketch on watercolor paper, while continuing students will start by drawing a rough sketch.
*We will create data for you to make stickers using the plant illustrations you completed in the 5th session. (You will need to print the stickers yourself.)

Shiho Sakurai Profile
Graduated from the Department of Sculpture, Faculty of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts. After working as an art teacher and product developer for baby products, he became independent as a freelancer.
She creates works that incorporate hand-drawn illustrations and hand lettering, and in addition to original items, she also designs logos and textiles.
