Kyoto no Oto is a series of writing inks that recreates traditional Japanese colors used since the Heian period using modern techniques and interpretations.
This product was developed in collaboration with TAG STATIONERY, a stationery and miscellaneous goods manufacturer based in Kyoto, and the Kyoto Plant Dyeing Research Institute.
"Moegi" refers to the yellow-green color that resembles the new shoots and leaves that sprout in early spring. It is considered a color that symbolizes youth, and was popular as the color of young people during the Heian period.
This is a distinctive ink that takes advantage of the bleeding characteristic of dyes to create a gradation of light and dark shades.
Because dye ink dissolves in water, you can write with the ink and then use a water brush to blur or thin the color, allowing you to create a variety of different expressions.
