Kyoto no Oto is a series of writing inks that recreates traditional Japanese colors used since the Heian period using modern techniques and interpretations.
This product was developed in collaboration with TAG STATIONERY, a stationery and miscellaneous goods manufacturer based in Kyoto, and the Kyoto Plant Dyeing Research Institute.
"Ura-hairo" (backside green) is a pale green color that is more subdued and darker than the front side of a leaf, like the underside of a tree leaf, and has been used since the Heian period.
This is a distinctive ink that takes advantage of the bleeding characteristic of dyes to create a gradation of light and dark shades.
Because dye ink dissolves in water, you can write with the ink and then use a water brush to blur or thin the color, allowing you to create a variety of different expressions.

We charge 800 yen for each delivery (Hokkaido/Kyushu 1,200 yen, Chugoku/Shikoku 1,000 yen, Okinawa 1,500 yen).
