The Masgrimes Lining Triangle was designed and developed by David T. Grimes, a renowned American penman and writing history researcher, after studying vintage tools from the past.
It is compatible with standard x-heights from 3mm to 8mm, and when used in combination with a straightedge, even beginners can easily draw multiple line layouts quickly, easily, and accurately.
It can draw slant lines at 52 and 55 degrees, and is compatible with slanted guidelines such as copper plate fonts.

David is a penman from the United States who is passionate about the history of penmanship.
His work is rooted in the tradition of 20th-century penmen and engrossers, with a particular focus on pointed pen "engrosser's script."
As a contemporary calligrapher, he upholds the legacy of American penmanship, inspiring passion and innovation among contemporary writers to pursue fulfillment in the "art of writing," and he promotes these ideals through his online calligraphy course, "Dreaming in Script."
