Paper Tree's original ink has been created under the supervision of inkstone maker Takashi Aoyagi.
It is characterized by its deep, firm, pure black color, and when brewed into a light ink it turns a reddish-brown color.
The fine soot particles and smooth writing feel make this ink suitable for Western calligraphy and suitable for a wide range of uses.
The surface pattern is inspired by the Chidorigafuchi cherry blossoms painted by calligrapher/designer Harada Sachiko, and features branches and a houndstooth pattern with gold accents that look like scattered petals.

Profile of Aoyagi Takashi: Born in Asakusa, Tokyo in 1979. He began learning how to make inkstones from his grandfather and father at the age of 16. He is the fourth-generation inkstone maker at the inkstone workshop in the calligraphy tool specialty store "Houkendo" in Asakusa. He also works as a part-time lecturer at the calligraphy department of the Faculty of Letters at Daito Bunka University. He is also passionate about conveying the richness and essence of calligraphy culture to the younger generation.

For Domestic Shipments
We ship via Yamato Transport's Takkyubin service. A shipping fee of 800 yen (Hokkaido/Kyushu: 1,200 yen, Chugoku/Shikoku: 1,000 yen, Okinawa: 1,500 yen) will be charged per shipment.
*Shipping is free for orders totaling 8,800 yen or more.
For International Shipments
We ship via FedEx, excluding some products. Shipping costs are borne by the customer.
*Products are shipped DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid). Please be aware that customers are responsible for any customs duties or taxes incurred.
Returns Deadline and Conditions
Returns are accepted within 7 days of the product arrival date.
After this period, we will not be able to accept requests for returns or exchanges, so please be aware of this.
We also accept returns due to customer convenience (only in the following cases):
・Unopened and unused products
・Excluding personal orders/sale items
・Please contact us by email within 5 days of product arrival.
Return Shipping Costs
Please note that for returns due to customer convenience, the bank transfer fees and shipping costs will be borne by the customer.
For exchanges of defective products or incorrect deliveries, the cost will be borne by our company.
Defective Products
While we take every precaution to ensure the quality of our products, in the event that a product is damaged or soiled, or if it is different from the product ordered, please contact us within 7 days of product arrival. We will promptly issue a refund or exchange. When returning a product, we kindly request that you contact us by email in advance.
