``Kuretake Wood Glass Pen Senbonzakura'' has a wooden shaft made from natural cherry blossoms from Mt. Yoshino in Nara and a glass nib that is carefully handcrafted one by one by craftsmen.

120 years have passed since the birth of the glass pen.
The glass pen is a writing instrument that originated in Japan and is said to have been developed by a Japanese wind chime craftsman in 1901.
Kuretake Co., Ltd. was also founded in 1903, and to commemorate their 120th anniversary, they released the ``Kuretake Wood Glass Pen Senbonzakura''.

The wood used for the shaft is natural cherry blossoms from Mt. Yoshino.
Since 1,300 years ago, it has been prohibited to cut down the cherry trees on Mt. Yoshino, which are registered as a World Heritage Site, for any purpose other than conservation.
Kuretake, headquartered in Nara Prefecture, took over some of the Yoshino cherry trees that fell down in the typhoon of 2018, and reborn them as pen holders and pen rests.
Each piece has a different color and texture, which is unique to natural wood.

The transparent and beautiful glass nib is made by glass artist Yoshitaka Tajima (Studio Kasho, Fukui Prefecture).
Glass pens are writing instruments that can only be made completely by hand by craftsmen.
Enjoy the smooth writing experience as the ink blends in well.
