Today, we would like to introduce "Lumos", an innovative writing instrument from the British stationery brand Tom's Studio, which has been steadily gaining fans, especially in Europe and North America, and officially launched in Japan in Spring 2026.
■ What is Tom's Studio?
Tom's Studio is a stationery brand from the UK.
Starting with handmade calligraphy holders, it now offers a wide range of items that enrich the handwritten experience, from original writing instruments and fountain pens to inks and painting tools.
■ What is Lumos?
Lumos is a new concept writing instrument where you fill the reservoir with fountain pen ink and can enjoy swapping out different nibs.
It is designed with environmental considerations in mind, as it can be refilled and reused multiple times.
It can be used as a fineliner, a writing pen, or a brush pen, and its appeal lies in its ability to be freely customized for various purposes.

【Lumos Duo】
This model allows you to set two different nibs and inks in one body.
You can freely combine the nibs and ink colors on both ends.

【 Lumos Single】
This is a simple model with one nib and one ink tank.
The ink capacity is approximately double that of the Duo Lumos.

【Lumos Mini】
This is a compact and portable model.
Its pocket-friendly size makes it ideal for sketching or writing on the go.

◼︎I actually wrote with the 0.8 tip and BR.
It had a smooth writing feel, and the BR was soft and pliable, making it smooth enough to want to write Japanese characters.
■ How to refill ink
It's very easy to use.
Remove the tip holder to access the reservoir and immerse it in an ink bottle.
Once the ink is drawn up by capillary action, simply reassemble it and you're ready to go.
