What is a Christmas card?

Christmas cards are often sent on Christmas Day in Japan, and are often attached to presents or used in letters to Santa Claus.

In other countries, it is customary to send Christmas cards as a way to greet people during the New Year holidays.

Christmas cards originated in England in 1843.
The first card was sent to friends by businessman Henry Cole, who printed "Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year."
Later, with the development of printing technology, it spread throughout the world as a custom of sending "thanks" and "blessings" to family and friends.

In Europe and the United States , it is customary to send Christmas cards to family, friends, and people who live far away as an annual greeting. Companies also have a tradition of sending cards to their customers and business partners.

In Japan It is not common as New Year's cards are more widely accepted, but in recent years more and more people are choosing it as a way to convey special feelings.

It is recommended that you send your Christmas cards so that they arrive in early to mid-December.
