Introduction to modern calligraphy lessons

Paper Tree holds various workshops and regular lessons every month, including calligraphy, watercolor illustration, and calligraphy.

Today we will introduce a lesson for those who want to start modern calligraphy.

1- Day Workshop

This is a two- hour, one-day lesson where you will learn how to use calligraphy tools, basic strokes, and the alphabet.

We also rent out tools, so this is recommended for those who are interested in calligraphy or who want to try writing for the first time.

Starting this year, we have also started evening classes starting at 6pm every month, so please feel free to join us after work.

Modern Calligraphy Basic 6-month course (Association certified course)

This is a regular class that meets once a month for six months. It consists of six classes starting in January and July every year, and covers everything from how to use tools to basic strokes, uppercase and lowercase letters, and phrase practice. On the sixth class, you will create a final copy of your original sealing stamp.

After completing the course, you will receive your original sealing stamp, and it will be a happy moment when the letters you drew are finished like a product.

Students submit assignments for correction every month, which the teacher corrects and returns at the next lesson. This means that regular lessons allow the teacher to closely check each student's writing habits and points of attention.

After the lesson, we will also provide you with a follow-up video for you to review at home.

The Basic course is a certified course by the Japan Modern Calligraphy Association, and after completing the Basic class, you can advance to the Advanced class and obtain certification.
